just dropping by...

I'm really tired of all the political commercials for everyone about everything. But I do feel strongly about Prop 102. gggrrr!!

Same old, same old

Nothing much to report. Things are just doing. I did go to San Francisco in July. That was a lot of fun. My friend KC helped me swamp out (clean out) my bedroom. That was a major undertaking! But it's almost time for classes to start up again. Work is getting a bit busier. Quilt-a-thon this week too. Whew!

Don't faint!

I was actually sewing yesterday on Sissy's sewing machine. She's been harassing me about "why, you don't sew". I don't sew because I don't want to hurt her machine, it's this fancy expensive quilting machine. It's kind of scary anyway, with all these different buttons and stitches.

So I had bought some quilted fabric, and she's helping me make a tote bag. I'll post photos when I have it done. It's really neat!

Me-tangles

This is my first attempt at Zentangles, and I have dubbed them "me-tangles". They are a lot of fun. I did break down and stop at Michael's for a couple Micron pens. They were $3 each as opposed to the Copic ones that start around $8. I love the .25mm fine line.

Zentangles

Okay, I'm slow. I just found out about "zentangles". I think I've been doing this kind of doodling forever, but perhaps not in the specific, described way.

Robyn has given a name to my circle drawings. I was trying to think of something cool for it that would set it out like zentangles, etc...

Remembering someone else...

A quilting friend died Wednesday evening after having been sick for a while... she had started to get better it seemed, the doctors were finally paying attention to her. And suddenly, she was gone.

I think, if I'm remembering correctly, the first time I met Louella was at a "quilt-athon". She instructed me, and anyone else who would hold still, on how to properly hand-tie quilts. She was very determined that her way was the RIGHT way to tie quilts. I will always remember her telling me that, and being so fierce about it!

So she's off to the great quilt bee, reunited with her husband and family.
